Schmidtberger Fine Art Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition of Sean Mount’s new paintings. “Wild Ciphers” runs through the month of March. Sean is one of only 9 artists selected statewide to receive a triennial award grant. An anonymous panel of judges reviewed hundreds of applicants before handing out the strictly merit-based awards.
This Exhibition features Mount’s masterpiece “Epochal Violence #8” a mural-sized canvas which took more than a year to complete (pictured below).
A Solebury, PA native, Mount spent 10 years in New York City working in film and television as a scenic artist (see imdb.com), winning an Art Director’s Guild Award for his work on MR. ROBOT. Mount recently came home to Lambertville, NJ to paint his intricate works, following his dream of being a full-time artist. Mount is also a naturalist who is concerned with the story of the local landscape. Known for his paintings of woodlands and creeks, his work is recognized as pushing the rich tradition of New Hope School Impressionism in a new direction. More examples of Mount’s work can be seen at seanmount.com or by appointment at his Prallsville Mills studio.
